I'd like to share my first animated short film here. within six weeks, I didn't have the time to complete the characters' dynamic movements.
My inspiration came from the growing number of explosions and shootings in Netherland. These are closely related to juvenile delinquency. I researched many cases of youth crime, calling for more attention to be paid to this issue. The two main characters in my animation, Sid(with hat) and Alex(yellows hair), are based on these cases. I wanted to explore what lies behind juvenile crime.
While writing their story, I seemed to temporarily become them. During the tedious mid-production phase, I drew them over and over again and was even moved by their friendship. This sparked the idea of extending this series.
he real utopian world is the story outside the drama. It might be in a parallel world where no one dies, no matter what you encounter. Even if you fall into endless darkness, I'm here to take you away, to escape. Just like the ending song says: "That's all right, let it out, talk to me."
